Brittany Fitzmaurice, MSN, NP-C, is a New York State Certified Medical Marijuana Practitioner. The traditional practice of prescribing opioids for pain relief presents a number of risks because of their addictive quality. Since 1999, opioid related deaths have tripled, and as a result, many have turned to medical marijuana as a safer alternative. Unlike opioids, marijuana is much less addictive and there are no reports of fatal marijuana overdoses.

There are specific medical diagnoses that qualify a patient for medical marijuana; some diagnosis included are cancer, HIV infection or AIDS, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), Parkinson's disease, multiple sclerosis, spinal cord injury with spasticity, epilepsy, inflammatory bowel disease, neuropathy, Huntington's disease, post-traumatic stress disorder, and chronic pain. As a New York State Certified Medical Marijuana Practitioner, Brittany Fitzmaurice, MSN, NP-C, is an advocate for holistic and alternative approaches to treating patients. Medical marijuana should only be used for medical purposes and patients must qualify per New York State standards or they will be disqualified immediately.

Initial Consultation, 30 minute appointment - $200

Annual Recertification - $100

Any patient who is currently being seen by Brittany Fitzmaurice, NP in an alternate facility will be given a 20% discount on any of the above ancillary services.

To be considered for a medical marijuana prescription, patients must:

1. Be over the age of 21

2. Get referred from a physician with a diagnosis that qualifies them

3. Have good mental hygiene and life balance

4. Be able to meet follow up appointments, which may be through telemedicine if desired
